Speaker of the House Thomas Swayze played an important role in redistricting negotiations during the 1972 session. Swayze, along with Republican redistricting leader Arthur Brown, Chair of the Appropriations Committee, presented the party's views while Senator Bob Greive continued to lead the Democratic redistricting efforts.
