Application of student conduct code to research misconduct.
Research misconduct, as defined in WAC
478-121-145, is a form of prohibited conduct under this code. Federal rules and policies, however, regulate the handling of research misconduct matters when university research is supported by federal funding. These federal requirements are incorporated into the university's Executive Order No. 61, Research Misconduct Policy, which governs the handling of research misconduct allegations against students participating in research on behalf of the university, as is further explained in that executive order. The disciplinary sanction provisions of this code, WAC
478-121-210 through
478-121-213, apply if there has been a finding of research misconduct against a student under Executive Order No. 61. The administrative review provisions of this code, WAC
478-121-320 through
478-121-345, apply to the extent such review is permitted by Executive Order No. 61.
