What return rights must an employer provide to a permanent employee who accepts an appointment to a project position?
At a minimum, an employer must provide a permanent employee who left a permanent position to accept an appointment to a project position access to the employer's internal layoff list. If the employer agrees to return the employee to a position, the employee must provide fourteen calendar days' notice to the employer of his/her intent to return to a permanent position unless the employee and employer agree otherwise. Upon return to a permanent position, the employee's salary is determined by the employer's salary determination policy.
