Does a consumer/employer who wants their individual provider to receive medicaid or public funding from DSHS need to gain approval from his/her case manager?

Yes. DSHS or AAA may deny payment upon a client's request to have a family member or other person serve as his or her individual provider if the case manager has a reasonable, good faith belief that the person will be unable to appropriately meet the consumer/employer needs.
