Can I maintain my records electronically?
Yes. (1) You may maintain records electronically if you also maintain the electronic display equipment and make it available upon request to the director or his or her representatives for purposes of examination or investigation.
(2) The hardware or software needed to display the record must also be maintained during the required retention period under WAC
208-620-520(1).
(3) You must provide records in hard copy upon request of the director.
(4) If you use a cloud service for records maintenance, the servers underlying that service must be located in the United States or its territories.
