Offenders with behavioral health disorders who are believed to be dangerous—Less restrictive alternative.
The legislature intends that, when evaluating a person who is identified under RCW
72.09.370(7), the professional person at the evaluation and treatment facility shall, when appropriate after consideration of the person's mental condition and relevant public safety concerns, file a petition for a ninety-day less restrictive alternative in lieu of a petition for a fourteen-day commitment.
