Participation of advisors and attorneys.
The parties to conduct proceedings may, at their own expense, be accompanied by an advisor of their choice, including an attorney, throughout the conduct proceedings. In a brief adjudicative proceeding, an advisor may provide support and advice, but an advisor may not speak on behalf of the student or disrupt or interfere with any aspect of the brief adjudicative proceeding, as determined by the conduct officer. In a full adjudicative proceeding, including any prehearing matters, if the party's advisor is an attorney, the attorney may advise and represent the party, but the advisor may not disrupt or interfere with any aspect of the proceeding, as determined by the hearing officer. For additional guidance, see Student Governance and Policies, chapters 209 and 210.
