(1) Petition for internal administrative review of denial of access. Once a request is closed, a requestor who objects to a denial or partial denial of a records request may petition in writing to the public records officer for a prompt review of that decision. The petition shall include a request for review under RCW 42.56.520(4), a copy of the written statement in which the university denied or partially denied the request, and a brief explanation of the portions of the response for which review is requested.
(2) Consideration of petition for review. The public records office shall promptly provide the petition and any other relevant information to the agency official designated to conduct the review. The official shall consider the petition and affirm or reverse the denial in writing to the requestor.
