Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 17-0011 School-Based Health Care Services (SBHS) in Charter and Tribal Schools Charter Schools.

Effective Date: On or after February 16, 2017.

Description: The health care authority intends to submit medicaid SPA 17-0011 to incorporate charter schools and tribal schools under the SBHS program.

The SBHS program currently reimburses contracted public school districts for health care-related services provided to children age 0 through 20 years in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B and Part C and consistent with Section 1905(c) of the Social Security Act. Charter schools and tribal schools must meet the same requirements as public school districts in order to provide and receive reimbursement for SBHS.

The agency estimates that if approved, this SPA will result in $0.00 in annual aggregate expenditures.
