Minor/dependent child.
A biological, adopted, foster child, stepchild, legal ward, a child of a de facto parent, regardless of age or dependency status, or a child of a person standing in loco parentis, who is:
• | Under eighteen years of age, or |
• | Eighteen years of age or older and incapable of self-care because of a mental or physical disability. |
Persons who are in loco parentis are those with day-to-day responsibilities to care for and financially support a child.
