In situations of apparent misconduct or apparent unauthorized presence in a college facility, properly identified college faculty or staff may ask individuals to produce a current student identification card or other proof of enrollment. A student who fails to comply with a legitimate request for identification from a properly identified college faculty or staff is a violation of WAC 132I-120-100
(4)(c)(ii) and may be subject to disciplinary action. In emergency situations, cases of serious misconduct, or where there is a substantial danger to the college community or college property, college faculty or staff may presume that an individual who refuses to produce student identification in response is not a student and may take actions consistent with such a presumption.
