PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY

     Subject of Possible Rule Making: Rules for killing wildlife that is threatening human safety or causing property damage. Also, rules relating to claims for damage caused by wildlife.

     Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 77.12.047.

     Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: Pursuant to SHB 1778, passed in July 2009, the department will create new rules and amend existing rules for killing wildlife that is threatening human safety or causing property damage, and for making damage claims, paying damage claims, etc.

     Process for Developing New Rule:      Agency study.
