PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY

     Subject of Possible Rule Making: Making changes to permissible activities and use of resources on department-owned and leased property.

     Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 77.12.047.

     Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: Certain resources on department-owned and leased lands are being used in a manner not intended by the department. For example, large, old snags are being cut down for firewood. The department would like to prohibit this activity and make other changes to resource-use on its land.

     Process for Developing New Rule:      Agency study.
