Lowering of the Washington State and United States Flags
I hereby direct that Washington State and United States
flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff
on Thursday, November 5, 2009, in memory of U.S. Army Private
First Class Christopher Walz, 25, of Vancouver, who died
October 27 in Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when an
improvised explosive device detonated near his military
vehicle. Please notify your staff and all of your field offices
and facilities around the state.
Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business
on Thursday, or first thing Friday morning.
Other government entities, citizens and businesses are
encouraged to join this recognition.
