January 2009 Quarterly Meeting

January 15 - 16, 2009

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day

     The Washington state rehabilitation council is a board of sixteen governor-appointed volunteer members. We work to improve the publicly funded vocational rehabilitation service system in Washington state, and the services provided by the division of vocational rehabilitation (DVR) to eligible Washingtonians with disabilities seeking employment. We meet for four two-day meetings each year. Our meetings are open to the public. Meetings will be recorded. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO ATTEND OUR MEETINGS BUT ALL ARE WELCOME. ATTENDANCE WILL NOT IMPACT YOUR ELIGIBILITY FOR SERVICES OR THE SPECIFIC SERVICES YOU RECEIVE.

American sign language interpretation will be provided;
The meeting location is wheelchair accessible;

     Additional meeting information: Thursday, January 15, 2009, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The purpose of this portion of the quarterly meeting is to make changes to the bylaws, advance committee work plans for 2009, to visit the local DVR office which is collocated with WorkSource, and to learn more about approaches to serving DVR customers who have a record of incarceration.

     Friday, January 16, 2009, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The purpose of this portion of the quarterly meeting is to learn more about the technical assistance and continuing education grant at the University of Washington, electing a new slate of executive committee members including the council chair.
